Nicki Minaj talks sexism - and it’s awesome. Not a huge listener of the genre personally (I’m basically the whitest, squarest person ever), but I am totally enamored of this awesome woman right now. 

Why is it that when talking about a rap artist people must announce that they don’t like the genre? An announcement that says, I like what they are saying here and now, but please don’t mistake me for someone who supports rap and all the scary things that come with that culture. Homie I can hear your fear through my monitor.

I made the distinction because I anticipated this post generating a bunch of questions about rap and hip hop that I am not in any way knowledgeable enough to answer - in the past I’ve made the same note about country music and video games too.
