Obligatory reminder that female Olympians are at the Olympics to compete in their sport, not so people can fetishize and criticize their bodies, or their facial features, or their attire, or how perceptibly ”sexy” they are/dress, or whether or not their “manly/ugly/gross/unnatural” muscles are attractive or not.
They’re not there to sit and look pretty.
They’re there to fucking win.
UGH, yes, this. I was watching one of the female rowing events, and when the reporters started interviewing the Australian team, the dudes around me started talking about how these women weren’t hot, and which sports you’d find the most attractive women in.
And the entire time I’m just sitting there thinking
The sport they choose isn’t dependent on how they’ll look when they play it
