About

Miranda. 22. Useless wastrel who daydreams in sequins, comic book expressions and musical numbers.

You might know me from that one glasses meme.

Prone to posting feminist quotes, various and varying babes, items of the literary and comic nerd culture and the more than occasional tentacle.

Any reaction images/gifs I post (unless they are of my face) are almost definitely not mine.

The thing is…

Most men don’t do shit when their friends harass women

They don’t speak up and the funny thing is, when I’ve seen men step in to tell other men to stop, they do

BUT

more often than not, they step in when it becomes uncomfortable for THEM to watch what their friend is doing—not before. Not when there are first signs the woman his friend is harassing doesn’t want to be there. Not when she says “no” but when they become uncomfortable

I judge the men with larger builds that don’t do shit. Its mostly women and other girls that have come to my rescue when i’m too choked up with fear—women smaller than my harasser and some even smaller than me. 9 out of 10 times, just speaking up will stop it. Saying “what are you doing? she said no”

Because men listen to other men.

The words that come out women’s mouths that don’t conform to men’s whim and stroke their privilege tends to get treated like background noise or brushed off as being “bitter” and “ungrateful”

OMG! but are you saying i can’t ever hit on women. How can I ever approach women then? A mans voice from the background says

Is your ass saying you can’t tell the fucking difference between harassment and hitting on someone? Go and learn

EXACTLY. If you can’t tell if a woman wants you to say things to her, or if what you’re doing is appropriate…you should probably stay on the safe side and not talk to women for fuck’s sake.
