I know the “binders full of women” thing is funny (I just discovered Binders Full Of Women and it is hilarious oh gawd)

but

let’s remember what Romney actually did

which was take a question about how he would address wage inequality

and acted like women were not interested in applying for jobs because they didn’t have flexible hours

(hence his anecdote about needing to go out and find qualified women, which, by the way, was completely false)

so he takes a question asking how he is going to address gender inequality in the workforce, specifically the wage gap

and makes it seem like it’s difficult to find qualified women, and that businesses would hire them, if only they weren’t being so sneaky and hard to find and requiring flexible schedules so they can go home and cook for their families

instead of talking about how he would address gender inequality in the workforce, specifically the wage gap

whereas Obama pointed out that wage inequality affects everyone, not just women, and pointed out that he had already taken steps to counter it with the Lily Ledbetter Act

just

let that sink in
